Here are some resources that will help you find some great places to camp in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and the Carolinas.

Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests US Forest Service campgrounds in north and mideast Georgia.
Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites Dozens of pioneer camping and primitive backpacking sites.

Georgia Power Lakes and Recreation Parks, recreational areas, fisheries, and whitewater at Tallulah Gorge.
Savannah River Lakes Dozens of camping areas on the GA-SC state line at the J. Strom Thurmond, Hartwell, and Richard B. Russell lakes (Army Corps of Engineers).

Tennessee Valley Authority Dozens of lakes, some in Georgia. Limited camping information but an 800 number is provided.
