Wood Badge

The Atlanta Area Council has just the course for you!

Scout Leader Wood Badge is an advanced training program for ALL SCOUTERS who are directly related to BSA Unit Operations. This includes Cub Scout leaders, Boy Scout leaders, Venture leaders, and all others involved directly with units in the Scouting program.

Participation in Wood Badge is by invitation only. Each Scouter invited to attend MUST have completed Scout Leader Basic Training (Cub, Scout, or Venture) and must be currently registered in a position directly related to unit operations. The Scouter must also be recommended by their home Scout District. It is strongly suggested that applicants have at least one year of camping experience. Participants in Wood Badge are required to attend ALL activities in order to complete the practical phase of the training.

The cost for the Wood Badge Training experience is $120.00. DO NOT SEND MONEY WITH YOUR INTEREST APPLICATION. A reservation fee of $25.00 must be returned with the "Acceptance of Invitation" you'll receive in the mail. Participants are responsible for the cost of their personal equipment.

The Weekend course has two 3-day weekends with a patrol meeting inbetween. There is a follow-up weekend around five months after the main course.
